Day 9: Sales Page

Before we get started on your sales page, remember to use tools you already have, before spending extra money & time learning new programs.

[Marketing Tip] While you're going through your product outline to create your sales page make notes, add a big star or flag to things you could later use as quotes. You can add these to images on social media later.

Please know I'm not an expert on this topic. So, I've called in resources and recommendations from friends and colleagues.

We could literally spend weeks or months creating the perfect sales page. But, since we only have a few days, let's look at...

Main Elements of a Sales Page

● Attention Grabbing Headline (not hype, must be true)
● Benefits
● Features
●Testimonials
● Call to Action

Tips from other Entrepreneurs

Amy Scott from Nomadtopia.com says:

I think my biggest tip is to get help with those little tweaks that make all the difference (and this isn't just a plug for my husband's work!). Some of the photo alignment was weird, and things didn't look great on mobile, and my husband was able to do some little things behind the scenes that I think make them both look a lot better. (I just saw a couple things that still aren't perfect, but a lot better than they were!)

Shanna Trenholm says:

1. Don't speak to your *audience* or *list* speak to one person.
2. Be clear and concise.
3. Don't diminish your worth or power through your word choice–eradicate the words: *actually* *just* "almost" and any apologies.
4. If you are compelled to use a fancy word, make sure you know what it means! Sounds obvious, but so many times we think we know what a word means...
5. Hire a copywriter–a good one has the 10,000 foot view, while still minding the details and wants you to succeed–your success is her success!
6. Kill adverbs.
7. If you write it yourself, please, oh please, have someone else read it before you hit publish!
8. Don't be afraid to tweak the copy if the first sales page is not having the results you'd like.

Tools to make creating sales pages easier

Landing Pages:

WP Landing Pages (free WordPress plugin, with some paid optional upgrades)
● Optimize Press (about $90)
● Lead Pages (about $190)
● Strikingly
● Unbounce

But you honestly don't need these. Use the tools you already have. Go to your website, create a new page. If possible, choose a template with no sidebar header or footer.

If you have never done this before, google the name of your website theme plus the words “remove header footer” and you'll hopefully find a helpful tutorial. You might need to add CSS to the search too, like this:
remove header google search
